Hub 7 · desk dock

One cable to the laptop, seven ports on the desk. Two HDMI at 4K 60, three USB-A, an SD reader and a USB-C that pushes 100 W back up the same cable that carries the video, so the laptop charges from the dock and the dock runs from the wall. The body is machined aluminium and it acts as the heatsink, which is why there is no fan in it and why it is warm rather than silent-and-then-throttling. The captive cable is 25 cm, long enough to reach round a laptop and short enough not to loop on the desk. There are no drivers to install and no app; it is a hub, and a hub that needs software is a hub that stops working when the software does.
